SQ 12 that can handle the SAZ 1500

on a side note I had some SI bm 10's in my Titan and they sounded freaking great but I guess they had voice coild problems they would play for about a week then they would go bad but I was taken care on those everytime.

elemental designs av.2 i no i no elemental designs has a bad ring on here. but we have many non biased opinions about the owners over on diyma. who did horrible things in the past, and ill say theyve gotten there act together cosiderably.

the av.2 reseambles a jl w7 in many ways and at 1 point there was a lawsuit between the two. mostly over the basket and design standpoint.

huge excursion, output, great control. and more. it definately something u should look into. it similar to your tss but will have more substanian sq aspects to it. id say ur driver is a spl driver with good amount of sq from what i hear from people. but this driver has a little less output than your tss with alot more sq.

However as i said earlier. i think the flatline is a great choice along with the idmax since they are so similar. I know don (6spdcoupe) a very highly regarded member on here who also owns a shop in nj that sells top of the line sq gear from companies like hertz, critical mass, dls, arc, audison, and other brands used 2 12" flatlines for like a period of a year and loved them.

Mike-

xxx isnt a "quote on quote" sq driver. it doesnt hit highs to well. but it is very good sq for a high output machine. sq drivers are snappier wide range subwoofers that produce notes cleanly quickly efficiently, and have a natural warmth that allows them to blend to the rest of a system. i dont think a 2000 watt xxx can do that. however id say an re se is a good candidate if you get 2 of them in pairs and send 700 to each.

There was a good post over on our forum about the power differences and how they affect overall perceived (and real) SPL by "GunForHire":

No sound difference. How can I state that?

Open your Windows calculator (or Mac, or Linux).

Type 750 / 500. You get 1.5 right? Now press the "log" button, you get 0.17.

Now press * 10 - you get 1.7. There is 1.7 dB difference between those two amps. A level that you'll go "I think I hear it"... Get to 3 dB and you'll know there's a volume difference, but it won't be much. Get to 8 to 10 dB and you'll hear it as twice as loud.

Bottom line, unless you're talking about a ratio of 2 or more in terms of power, it's really not an issue. Go with the smaller amp (you'll have the same sonics), save the cash, space, weight, and power draw.
So if you backed off the gain a bit, a new Mag is right up your alley if you want SQ to weigh more than SPL (that is, if you value how your system sounds). Not to mention that it makes the current Mag sound like crap, but it also requires a smaller enclosure than all other subs listed in this thread.

Or you could search for an older Mag (as mentioned) or sign up to win the one we're giving away, port it, and beat the ever living piss out of it. But then you're going more SPL than SQ.

Electro I have already signed up couple days ago on your forum, I definately will check out the new mags and I hope they come out soon. I owned the bm 10's before and they were great subs. I really don't care for spl at all getting to old for that so I will definately be waiting on the mags release date.

Oh, ok. If you've signed up for the newsletter then you're up-to-date on our progress (AKA: you know that production has started). //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif
