SPX-17PRO help

I got an Alpine SPX-17PRO kit. I have some questions on it. I know it is bi-ampable, but I'm only running 1. On the input there is WF+/- and TW +/-, My question is when the jumpers for the signal link are in place, which terminals get the amplifier power?

On the phase link module it looks like I'll need number 6 since the woofer and tweeter will be around 5" apart. I had a question on what the specs on these meant. What does it mean when it says TW on or off, SW on, on the acutal module. I noticed #3 is the same distance but SW is off and TW is on or off.

One last thing. I am running them with an alpine 9887 set to 4.2ch (F/R/Sub) Mode. What should the frequencies and slopes be set to as a starting point? I know it varies with vehicles and installs, I just don't want anything to get ruined before I even get a chance to use it. Thanks for your help.

Since he's using the crossovers, they will take care of the HPF for the tweeters.

Back to the OP:

Really the only crossover you're going to need is a HPF on the front channel, start by setting it to 63hz hp @ 18db and see if you are satisfied with the low end. You could try 50hz @ 24db for a little more bottom umph, but I'm not sure if the mids can handle that low, it depends on the music you listen to really.

As for the crossovers them selves with the jumpers in place you only need to use one input, IIRC its the one on the mid side that is for single amp use, when bi amping the tweeter side has it's own inputs.

I think the other jumpers allow you to adjust the phase, read over the manual again, I'm pretty sure it explains what the jumpers do.

So the amp input should be on the WF +/-? I have the phase adjustment figured out with the modules they supply. Just making sure where the input from the amp goes. Thanks

I really dont want to go the custom install route, so Im looking for a set that will offer better response in the factory mounting positions on the doors. My DLS speakers sound great but are a little laid back... if I lean forward so that Im more in line with the tweeters the treble is much more lively.

The SPX Pro's have the different modules for the crossover that are supposed to account for the tweeters location so Im thinking that they may be a better fit for the factory locations sound wise!?

Maybe im way off, IDK, im just looking for opinions

The modules are easy to to install/change. They sound great in my '03 Silverado. If you have ever seen how those components are mounted, they are off axis.

Im really leaning towards trying that since the modules can be changed so easily

OT question for you - what size box do you have your FI Q? Are you running ported or sealed?

I have a 2.0 cu ft box ported. Right now its tuned low since I didn't have both my aero ports. Its tuned at 28Hz which is cool for a few songs, but once my other port arrives it will bring it up to approximately 35Hz.
