being that i dont kno where i am going to be stationed and for how long a house isn't that practical at the moment just looking for a toy
Right, not practical at the moment, but I bet eventually you want a house. And if you were smart you would make sure you have 20% saved up put down on it, so it never hurts to start saving. I'm 19 and I've started, but I have no idea where or when Im gonna have a house.

Also, don't fall into the trap of being too worried about your credit, its important to have (at first), but don't get credit cards and get yourself into debt just to try to get some. Make sure you have money in advance before you buy something, then you can charge it, and pay it off with the money you already have saved up. For example..

I'm gonna be staying in an apartment next school year, so I'm looking at a 9month lease and around $4500. I've already started saving for it, and I'm gonna work all summer to make sure I have that amount. Then I'm going to take out a student loan (interest free) of $4500 and pay off my rent/utilites in the beginning. Then I'll pay that loan back over the next 9 months with the money I already have saved for it, that way my credit builds.

i can tell you this....my friend is a service manager at a BMW dealership...its over $200 for an oil change on an m3....

in fact when he was new, he was so shocked he had to ask his superior, who confirmed it.

edit: hell it might of even been $250, all i remember is it was at the minimum $200

wow an oil change can never be that hard or worth 200$

yes, you can image the shock on my buddies face.

he's been working on old chevys his whole life. he owns a 69 chevelle, so obviously oil changes run for about $20 lol. he told me a ladies son called about it, and they quoted him a price. he then told his mother (the lady) who called the dealership and wanted to know if that price was accurate. he said "how much did they quote you" she said "$2xx", and he said "wow! that does seem a little excessive let me double check" and wham, it was confirmed and he almost shit his pants.

and that post sounded like 2 teenage girls gossiping //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
