SPL vehicle in the works *pics*

well we were doing a 151 with a single baffle (3\4 thick), and we decided we need more cubic footage instead of further testing...

so we are going to rebuild the wall //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

and this time, weld the axle to the frame. it got quite heavy -_-

and hopefully we are gonna get some bigger amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif say, 16kw or so...

4 cadence A7's - ~1400w RMS @ 1ohm. we have them at .4ohms and they love it. four big *** batteries (not sure of the brand tbh lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif ) and we fiberglassed an amprack for them - thats a linedriver in the bottom middle.

two beyond audio inhuman 18's, wall is ~21 cubes, back of the wall is 6" of concrete. we glassed the edges of the wall to the B pillars, roof, and floor to seal it off. we were cutting down the baffle to see where we were peaking out (just some testing in this picture)

i think our testing wasnt bad //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

but we can DEFINATLY get alot louder. the baffle was flexing like 2" - so was the roof and the floor, and theres alot more stuff we need to do. 155 was not far off, but the weather will soon get really bad here and we decided to make the wall larger (30~40 cubes) so we just stopped working on it atm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

When you get people to sit on your car, you know you're loud //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

like i said in the thread, we were just testing port sizes, we cut it down so we had like 25"+ wide port. but like btn said we need more airspace, so thats what we decided on. so we are gonna re do it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

but thanks alot nick. good to hear commin from you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

a 150 aint bad, but we wanna get at least around a 158 or so. we know theres alot of tweaks, but it still sounds hella loud. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

One thing thats good to remeber is that its easier to take away airspace instead of adding some.

So you can always build it big and cut down the airspace.

We are using about 30-35 cubes for the vfls, and those are only 15s.

You should see a nice increase in score with a bigger box.

well the problem is, we bult the wall to fit into the sliding door, and we didnt know we were going to have a termlab at our disposal when we made the box. it happened after we put it all together.

so we are gonna take it all out and do a build-in (wich we tried to avoid) but alas //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

so we will knock it up to 35~45 cubes prolly //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
