Specific L5 vs. Type-R matchup

I know a lot of people have threads about this matchup, but I was wondering about these 2 subs in my specific setup. I am going to be running 2 12" L5s or 2 12" Type-Rs off of a Rockford Fosgate 1500-1bd amplifier, they are going to be put in a ported box in the back of my Tahoe. I listen to mostly rap, but some rock. I was wondering which of these 2 subs would be best for my setup?

I would say kicker because i personally like how they sound ported. also, remember that pretty much everyone uses the type r and eve though they are loud subs, i would like l5's much more. By the way i have heard both subs too

i honesly think youll like the type r's more. they can take an *** load of power (the 05 12" model my friend ran took 2k daily) and sounded pretty **** good. i should mention it got pretty loud in an suv so im assuming youd even be happy with 1. but shit, the more the merrier.

as for the l5...i cant say to much about it cause ive never ran it. ive heard people say it doesnt sound that great for sq, but that could of been install dependant. i say if your gonna run a lower wattage setup go for the l5's and if your gonna be running a higher wattage setup go for the type r's.

AGAIN I HAVE NEVER RAN AN L5 OR L7 SO TAKE IT WITH A GRAIN OF SALT.

Type R FTW, i ran well over 1000 w daily to mine for around 6 months and it found a new home and has rf10001bd on it around 1500 wrms, gains set accordingly and it just pound's and sounds good. L7 would compare more to the R in this case

its totally install dependent. my 2 12'' R's are raping my friends l7 15'' right now. both setups have the same amount of cone area. same amp and same car and same electrical.

with my experience R's can only handle 900 actual watts of music.

many many and even many guys have run 1300- 1500 watts for daily to an R 15' with no issues.... but ya install is so important, you could even make a sony xplode sound good, well um no,,, i lied ..... they just plain ol shittttt...lol

how do you figure 2 12's and a single L7 15" have the same come area?

what amp is pushing these?

also what kind fo box are both sets of subs in?
