speakers that wont work in cold weather

i have a 99 jeep with an alpine head unit with stock speakers. the front door speakers dont work when its cold outside the back works fine. was told the front speakers were done, so i replaced the front speakers and they do the same thing. I thought that i might have installed them wrong so with a test light made sure that the positive was correct. dont know what is going on? thanks for any help
