I have a Pioneer VSX-D608 and just purchased a Monster HT SL100-SW THX Subwoofer. When I plug the RCA cable from the Sub out on the Reciever into the subwoofer all of my speakers start humming. Anyone have a clue what the problem is?

Thanks

Get a 3 to 2-prong adapter, and plug the sub into it.

If the hum disappears, you've got a ground loop.

Is everything plugged into the same outlet or power strip?

Wow, I never thought of that. I used a 3 to 2 power adapter and now it works..... **** you just saved me alot of time... What is the cause in my wiring in the house that would cause this?
