Speakers cut out when RCA cables move

So I've got this really lame problem. I'm running Alpine SPX-17REF's on an eD.2 and I've got to have the RCA cables wedged at a very specific degree underneath something to get both speakers to play. If they move a centimeter or don't stay a certain tightness one of the speakers cut out.

Also, I went to pull out one of the RCAs and the gold connecter from the amp came out with it.

What could be the problem?

I had pretty much the same problem. I replaced the RCAs and everything worked for awhile, but the new pair has also gone bad.

I have a strong feeling that it's my Pioneer HU that is frying the RCA cable, but I'm not sure. Is that even possible?

If the RCA terminals are the problem, could that also cause the amp to go into protect mode?
