small cooling fan for an amp

do you guys think the typical 3 or 4" raido shack 12v fan would be good to cool a fosgate power 1100a2 amp. they run warm to begin with and i am running mine at 3 ohms. what do you think?

Couldnt hurt anything...

Where is the amp located? Maybe its not getting enough ventilation. If its kinda enclosed, try moving it somewhere else and see is that helps anything.

the amp will only except up to 2 ga, i have 0ga running to the cap and a 4" 4ga to the amp. it dosnt shut off (yet) ive never used this type of amp for a sub before so mabie iam not used to the heat they give off.

If it needed a fan, RF would have built one in it. As long as your power and ground are big enough and your amp is in a well ventilated area, lilke galactic said, it should be fine.

lol--dosnt shut off from over heating, it shuts up when i tell it to though.

iam thinking its just fine, ill throw a fan on it anyways.

That would work fine.
