Speaker Wire Question

I am hooking up to Rockford Components in the front and two alpine SPS-170As in the back. They are being powered off a 600W Pioneer pushing 60W RMS x 4 @ 2 Ohms. This guy i was talking to last night said i would need to replace my speaker wire or it would fry. Is that necessary?

Unless it's 18awg or smaller...you should be fine.

What they are saying is that the wire you have on there most likely is more then enough. look on the insulation and you should see some printed text saying what awg it is.

The stock head unit was rated at 4 x 5 watts @ 10 ohms, though ...

Rofl. I laughed, then got nervous because i just sold my soul for a system. Then i posted here. i feel ok now though
