speaker wire GAUGE

is 12gauge speaker wire good enough for a DC XL? I tried 8 gauge power wire, but it wont fit in the terminals.

whatever the biggest you can fit ... or use 8ga and really twist the wire tiiiight...put on a glove, hold the wire, and then twist with your other hand.

8 awg speaker wire is overkill...

10gauge it is. 8 gauge wont fit since Im running the sub in parallel. I cant fit a single 8 gauge let alone 2 8 gauge in a single terminal.

It depends on how much power you're running really, but 10ga should be enough for most.

8 awg speaker wire is overkill...

yeah but you can never have enough.. it's not like he's gonna hurt it.. the capacitance of the wires, even that big, is still small at sub-100Hz.

i have a roll of 10 gauge speaker wire. Not sure how good it is though. Install bay 50ft roll. I might try using that.

I bought some 8 gauge pwr wire from knu and expected it to work. subs arrived and I was sadly mistaken. I should have researched before buying, but I didn't... I'm sure I'll find other uses for the wire.

good brand for 10gauge for my speakers?

8 might have worked. but knu oversizes their wire.

I don't think so, I trimmed the wires down to half and they fit, but where I run into trouble is the side I have to double the wire on. perhaps I could try banana clips since they are normal push terminals and just plug them into the hole on the tops of the terminals. I want to tests the subs tomorrow, so I will run the 10gauge until I can try some bananas.
