Speaker Wire Gauge? How big does it need to be?

Ok setup....

3 RE SE's.

Power Acoustik 5500 dGothic Series amp

All three subs will be wired together making a 2.67 ohm load.

I estimate that will be about 2000-2200 watts rms.

I have seen threads saying

"Do not double wires up with each other"

You know, put 2 wires side by side to make it seem like a larger gauge.

I have 10 gauge speaker wire right now but i am not sure if that will be big enough.

im using 10ga speaker wire for 4krms......

then again, the wiring meets at the amp, so in reality i guess the wires not seeing anywhere close to 4k

the bigger the better with wire. try to keep at least 4 from battery to battery and to cap. speaker to amp usually 8 gauge and block to amp no more than 4 gauge. be sure to have eveything secured, any loose wires can cause severe damage and cost lots of money so be careful and take that extra step.
