Speaker wire for subwoofer

Hey, I've installed an RE Audio SEX12D4 and it's being powered by a Hifonics hfi1000.1 amp so I'm

Pushing anywhere between 600-700 watts to the sub.

Now onto my question... The speaker wire I have going from my amp to my box is 16gauge wire but inside the box is just the wire that came with my box... The box is a sound ordnance box that I picked up off of crutchfield so I know it's not amazing... Could this wiring be bottlenecking my subwoofer? Is even 16 gauge wire good enough? And are these sound ordnance boxes at least decent?

Its not a stupid question at all. It is possible that it could be, maybe not a whole lot but some. I would probably use 12 gauge or bigger for something like that. Also the shorter the wire the more power it can handle .

Hope that helps.
