Speaker troubleshooting

Hello there, I'm pretty much as new as they come when it comes to car audio, but I was hoping maybe I could find some answers here.

I recently hooked up a new deck in my dodge ram 96, which hasn't had a stereo for years. The front left speaker didn't work right off the bat. I then switched the outputs on the stereo and the left output played fine through the right speaker. I checked the left front speaker in the door with a multimeter, but I wasn't sure what I was looking for. I got a reading of about .007 on the lowest voltage setting. I'm not sure if the speaker is shot, or if the problem could be a fuse, or what?

Can anyone help me troubleshoot?
