I have Infinity Reference components in the front, stock 5 1/4 in rear with a small powered sub in the rear for fill, a 4 channel MTX amp and a Kenwwod Excelon installed in a SUV. I just had the Excelon installed to replace a Pioneer.

My question is what speakers should I run off the amp?

Sound was great until the install of the Excelon. I'm not sure if the installer changed the setup. Now, all the bass in coming from the small sub and the Infinity's up front sound like cardboard speakers and hurt my ears. I used to get some bass from the front along with great highs and mids. I'm guessing that the fronts were powered off the amp and the rears were off the HU before the change. I'm not sure if the difference is between the Pioneer and the Kenwood or the way the new one was set up.

My goal is to have good clean sound with a little added bass again.

Any help appreicated.

Power the components off of the amp, and the rear fill off of the head unit - or, remove the rear fill completely. Play around with a bunch of options and see which one you like better.
