I just started a new build and the only thing I'm missing is subs. This time around I'm not going for all out spl I want sq. I'm aiming towards a ground pounder. So my delima is three sp4's sealed or two team Fi's ported. With setup will be powered with two ampere 5k's

you sure the sp4 and team subs are what you want for SQ? fi has dedicated SQ drivers that will sound much better and still get plenty loud...

Don't go sealed......

If anything, do two SP4's ported and spend a little more on your electrical system to support the power you plan to run. Can get VP 7k's for about the same price as the Ampere 5k's too

I wouldn't do nether. Id do the Q. or if you want a SQ woofer find something with a huge shorting ring on the pole piece.

probably the closets thing is going to get the sundown NS v3s..

I love the low end and flat response that sealed boxes produce
i've argued this for years. as long as you keep the group delay and phase between the rear and front wave distortion below the audible levels the ported box kicks its ***..

speakers have come a lot way and engineering as acoustics have as well..

Sealed you loose output and it doesn't make it sound any better. Ported is just better all the way around
Yep

With the amount of power you're running, why would you want sealed? properly Designed ported would be better.

With 10k, you're outside the typical "SQ" range of things

One of the reasons I wanted sealed was because I was going for power and cone area. And the fact that I'm not going for sheer output. With that being said I want something that plays music daily

Going for power and cone area, not sheer output.......

No problem. The Dayton ultimax is one of the better sounding sealed subs I’ve heard. I kinda want to try the 18 in my ride.
