Soundstream Pn1.1000D Amp Dyno

Not surprised the SS PN1.1000 came up short. Remember, as Ryan mentions in the linked video these are the same as the PPI Ion and PA Razor amps. All are entry-level amps. The PPI I650.1 didn't make rated power in the Sonic Electronics Amp Dyno video either. Around 585 certified if memory serves. So, it stands to reason the bigger brother would be a little short too. Surprisingly, the 4 channel versions all seem to make their rated power.

The biggest selling point for all these amps is their size. They can be easily tucked under a seat or in some cases in a console or behind panels. They aren't competition amps and you shouldn't expect them to be on par with the PPI Phantom's or SS Tarantula Nano's. However, I do agree it would be a added bonus if the mono-blocks did their advertised power.

Someone must be buying them though, their price is going up quickly on Flea-Bay.

Thanks OP for doing these informative videos. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

Its a decent amp for a 5-600 rms sub it seems..be about all id use one for and being tucked away
I'd consider the SS Picasso Nano and the PPI Ion as good, low cost (for now) options for a daily beater, work vehicle or kids/wifes ride. Don't expect them to be earth shattering or underrated and you'll be fine.

Also, as a FYI I typically don't do the Big Dog amps because the loss factor is HUGE on those amps. I don't mind losing $50 an amp, but losing $300+ on amp means I would only be testing 1 amp every other month......

Not to mention the money you would need tied up in a battery bank to make a fair test on 5K+ amps. Not enough people buy those things that if all of them clicked and subscribed you'd ever make your money back to keep up with battery bank.

I do have a battery bank that can support a 5k... My battery bank is currently 11 XS D1400 batteries... Plus the two 150 amp PSUs I use...

My point exactly. 4 grand tied up in batteries and inverters with a finite shelf life... .double that to get reliable numbers on the 8K+ size stuff.

LOL! I always see people posting in the comments sections of Ryan's and Dereck's videos telling them they need to test XXX amp. Or, "please test xxx amp". Always makes me wonder if people think there is a magic amp elf that just drops them off to be tested? I don't know anyone with unlimited resources who can test every single amp that those posters have laying in the floor board of their Ford. Everyone wants "their amp" tested. Would drive me crazy.

I have to admit it does drive me bonkers.... I sometimes wonder if some people think BigD and I are like DJ's at weddings and we just have a giant library of amps we can break out at any time.... Truth is we have to buy them and since my channel is not monetized yet (Because Aaron Paul and his stupid ******* Stunt last year has made it VERY difficult for new channels to be monetized), I have to bargain shop and make sure the loss I am sure to take is going to be minimal.

I have plenty of amps here so there is plenty of content coming....

If I had the equipment I would do it myself. And with that logic why test any of them. I just want to see a certified number and see if the manufacturer is telling the truth. The same reason blank or wiz tests the amp they test.

But, they can't test EVERY amp everyone wants them to test. Ryan has mostly been testing more affordable amps for the exact reason I mentioned...they cost money. Dereck has tested a lot of old school amps because many people have been generous enough to send them their personal amps to put on the bench. But, he is doing more and more new amps to try and balance things out.

I just find it funny that in the video comments there are always a bunch of posts from people wanting these guys to test the amp they own or want to own. Like Ryan and Dereck are made of money and can just run out and buy amps like filling a grocery list.

I'm appreciative to them both for doing as much as they do. Just seems rude for people to constantly be badgering them to do more.
