Always has been and still is top notch equipment, nothing has changed except ownership of the company... Still being built to the same high standards.

I think they were in some financial trouble, someone a while ago said that SS was bankrupt but I am not sure on that, but anyway I have been trying to find out about their new Picasso amps, a fwe have some serious power for not too much money but no one has posted about them yet to my knowledge

Soundstream is now owned by PowerAcoustic Inc.. All this means is that PowerAcoustic is now the parent corporation that owns them and Soundstream is just another one of their corporate holdings, just like Mitek( MTX) ownes Coustic, Xtant, and a couple of others that currently slips my mind right now.

I have one of the new Soundstream Picasso Amps. Its the 880.2 and its pushing 2 HE2's. They hit hard enough for me. I dont really know if its loud for you people but it hurts my ears on some notes. Id like to have it tested sometime to see if they are still underrated or overrated. The older versions were underrated and not sure if they changed the circuit boars on em. Just curious about how much its really pushin.

The first one I got was a lemon. It didnt even turn on so I sent it back, got a new one, hooked it up, and now its pumpin hard. It gets kind of hot but that was the summer time and it was already 100 in the trunk. I put a fan on it and the proctection light never came on and it felt like you could cook an egg. It ran for hours straight and the light never came on. I was impressed, but thats part of thier design. The outer shell of the amp is a big heat sink. Its about 20" long and looks killer. I got mine for only $250 new off ebay and its workin pretty **** good for the $250.

I use to own the PIC 2.880 it pushed my BP1203 really hard and clean. Very strong and nice clean amps. The PIC line have a very low THD 0.02%.
