Soundsplinter subs

i have a brutus 1500 watt. i hear that they are overrated and i also believe it. i have 1 kappa perfect and my original intent was for 2. i dont have the room for 2 so i want a 1 sub set up. i should be able to get 1.25 cuft. could this sub handle over 1000 with maybe a 1000 daily. i was looking at the idmax but the mount depth is way to deep for me. id like a sub that can go crazy at about 1300 watt and not blow. i figure that is what my amp is probably pushing at 14v. is this a good sub to go with or would i kill it.

get the rlp dual 2 ohm and wire it parallel for 1500 watts, I have the same amp and a very similar sub and trust me that brutius ain't going to blow it,

look in the review section,b1500's amps don't put out too much power at 2 ohms

I've had my eda15 both ported and currently 3cuft sealed

dont plan on the rl-p lasting long if you send 1300w to it daily...
From the SS website:

These drivers have been used with a 1500 watt amp in a small enclosure while maintaining very low power compression.

They can handle it thermally. Just be sure to put them in the correct box for said power.

That said, I've been feeding mine ~900-1000W in 2.2ft^3. Nothing but praise, thus far.

The bench tests Ive seen on the bx1500d's put them at around 1300-1400 watts RMS. Overrated yes, but not by alot.

Brutus' output scales linearly with the impedance. I dont know where the idea it puts out less at 2ohms came from.

i might just give this sub a try. i figure that im not going to want more than a 1000 watts for daily use. i figure i may want to max it out for a song or two at most on very few occasions. it can get pretty loud in my truck with just one kappa perfect wired at 4 ohms. i figure 1 rl-p with a 1000 will be more than satisfying.

I preferred my RL-p 12" in the sealed box, it whomped ass just fine. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Yes, an Rl-p can "whomp ass" in a sealed box pretty well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Gets louder than I'll ever need

Additinally, no need to reference "max" anything as those specs are useless. Most of know how to look at specs for a given speaker, amp, HU, etc...
