Sound System Problem

ok i have a Type R Alpine 12 and a MTX amp and today while i was driving the music stopped. The amp is still on but you hear no music, when you turn the car on the 12 sounds like an heartbeat and it just keeps doing that but you hear no music from the 12 or from the speakers inside the car. Can anyone help me out?

check all your connections, power, ground, rca's etc.

i'm still having the same problem, do you think that it could be my head unit? i still hear no music from the speakers

what do you mean you checked them? took a multimeter and tested power and remote for 12v? did you make sure you rca's weren't grounded out?... pull your radio out and make sure they are plugged in tightly... make sure all your deck settings are fine and nothing is muted or turned off...

i did that, i even unhooked the amp and it still doesnt make any sound

It is possible that there's something wrong with the HU. You want to eliminate any possible wire problems first though. You said that you already did that, so pull the HU out and get it tested.
