What the hell is an al-s?

Maybe you meant the Rl-s? The Rl-s is in an entirely different class than the Alpine Type-R. They cost 4 times as much and will likely murder them outright on any level.

if you are looking at an LMS driver look at a tc-lms4000 as they are better suited for in car use then an RLS....inefficiency + SVC 4ohm equal an pain to find amp power for...and if it were between an lms 4k and a type r...they are two completely different subs but i personally would take the lms as linearity is where its at

the rl-s require huge boxes(5-6cuft). they are much more practical in home audio. now if u are referring to a cpl rl-p's then i would say go ahead. they have awesome SQ and i happen to have a 15" rl-p for sale =D 170$sh

i was gonna get a 4000 watt amp for 3 r type 15s, or have 3 of the sound splinters an whatever amps i needed for them
