Sound Quality & Bass Boost

What a oxy moron huh? A guy I used to work with just recently blew his Eclipse sub and was really scrating his head about why. After calling the rescue team in, it was determined that he had his bass boost on his RF amp through the roof. OMG! The sq people on the forum here are so right in this matter. I have done my own tests as well. Either have it on at a minimal level or not at all! I choose a very minimal level. I run a 12' type R, and don't believe type R is all about spl. You can make them sound damm good for sq. Obvously, there are better sq subs you can choose, but I have been able to find a very good combo for both spl and sq with the type R. But for God sakes, don't turn up the bass boost here. Can you say distortion? How about mud? Looks like poor Danny will have to dump more money into his system because he didn't do his homework on his spl system.
