Sound production school??

Anyone here in something of relation to, Sound producing, Audio engineer , Audio editor etc. Have a passion for music and understand sound very well. Want to make a career out of it. List of honorable schools ? Pay Rate AVG? And maybe someone can shed light on the differences in all those job titles. I'm not certain if I want to master the final rendition of songs or make beats. Could check out College of Contemporary Music. A little pricy and only here in socal I believe, but they have audio engineering courses. Probably not the best option but the only one that comes to mind...a buddy of mine went there and I went with to the open house and I was impressed.

Should be some info there as far as career outlook as well.
