Im working on my system and some poeple told me to go active and to get a alpine h701 with my IVA-w200, and go active with hertz speakers off a sundown audio 100.4.

I was wondering the advantages and disadvantages of sound processors and active setups?

Well once you go active, for one you can now dedicate amps to working particular frequencies. An amp works much better on a small band of frequencies then the entire band. It also allows for more control of crossover points and allows you to precisely tune using the sound processor. The only real disadvantage is cost. Active setups can be difficult to get tuned until you get used to the setup as well. It is a good learning experience.
