Okay Right now I have a Kenwood mp 445u . I would like to be able to stage my sound system.

The question is should I get a sound processor or a HU that has the capabilities.

I will be running HSK165's and alpine 4x6 s + 2 10" cvr's .

Amp for my HSK's Boston gt 24

This will all go into my work truck.... 93 chevy single cab....lol

Thanks for your time......

I've plug in sound processor in search couldn't find anything .

But could be just because I'm new here to the forum.....

New to SQ any and all info will be useful.

K . A new head unit.... Kewl Do you think I'll have enough sound out of just the Hertz???

I'm running 4 4x6 and 2 6x9 s inclosed. right now What I'm asking is do you think I'll miss them...

Well, I'm no pro but i asked a similar question for my camaro and most ppl said that i dont have to run my 6x9's just run the component speakers.

Also, you said this was for a single cab truck right?

except you don't get T/A with the Audiocontrol EQL.

you may like your HU, but a good processor will cost several hundred dollars. a used HU with T/A (Alpine CDA-9813, 9815, 9833, 9835, 7998, 9887) will do what you want.

the 4x6 aren't adding anything useful to level. the HSK are able to play plenty loud, louder than the 4x6. you do or do not have 6x9's running? you didn't mention them in your original post.

in your truck, i wouldn't fathom running rear 4x6. you won't miss the distortion. try without and if you do use them, keep them on a channel you can fade to minimize the level they have.

in your truck, some T/A will give you what you want.

Im going to agree with you.. I think that would be my best bet... "A new HU...

Yes I have two

6x9s between my two sets... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif stage well sux but when I'm at work I can hear it while I work... lol

Whats a 9887 going for used ???? in great shape...

I wasn't going to use them as I'm look'n to go SQL and those for sure would screw that up....

the best thing to do with the enclosed 6x9 is have them set up to be placed on the outside and play to an area, but when in the car, they aren't used. i used to do that with field parties, i always had some enclosed 6x9's in the trunk with enough wire to reach the roof, and on a switch in parallel with the front speakers. or if you have a tool box - store them in there with wires ran through a switch or something.

if you want a sound stage, the most important part is speaker placement and aiming. where you put speakers determines PLD, ITD, IID, and HRTF. you don't want anything in the middle of the truck, and you want very little behind you. you want to recreate a pair of floor standing speakers in a room with you sitting between them. the left ear gets left channel information and the right ear gets right channel information - and both arrive at the same time. then you get an image and a sound stage. where the sound comes from is also determined by placement, height, and aiming.

A 9887 can be had for around $200. i have one, i like it a lot. most of what i listed could be found in our classifieds.
