It really depends on where you live, some places are stricter than others, I have no idea how they are in Arkansas though, but more leniency won't hurt //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yeah, I agree with 2kchevy to a point. While I don't think main roads should have no sound ordinance at all, I think they should be much more lenient with them, which they usually do allow for you to play louder on a main road then in a residential area. And yeah most of the time sound violation tickets are a joke (money-wise)

man they are out of control here in montgomery, Al. they were 341 first offense 500 then it keeps goin up. now it jumped to 369 first offense 520 and keeps going up!!!! ive had 6 since ive been 16 and im 19 now. we have a zero tolorence now. . .

here's an interesting thing... http://www.noboomers.com/

honestly as long as your considerate it shouldn't be a problem... like cranking it in neighborhoods and at redlights...

some lil shithead thats friends with my lil bro had been doing that, cranking it in front of my house... so i sat outside his house until his dad came out and asked wtf I was doing... I told him that I was just returning the favor, except that I was louder... taught that lil POS no to do it again

Sound ordinances that ban music in public places are unnecessary and frivolous. However, I fully support strong enforcement of sound ordinances that react strongly to either repeat offenders or people who generate a larger volume of complaints.

It's a question of reactionary vs being proactive. However, we must be cautious about being too proactive to the point that we are restricting those who wish to abide by the law from enjoying such simple things as listening to music in their vehicle.

Agreed, and well said....

Sounds to me like they're not high enough where you live... it apparently hasn't taught you to turn it down, so it's not been painful enough.

6 times? I think it's time to start confiscating your equipment the next time....

here in my city of Yakima, Wa...i personally haven't gotten a ticket but a buddy of mine recieved 2 in the same month by the same cop, and the ticket costed him $496 each time. Here's what gets me, u can have people on motorcycles, ie: harleys that are loud as sh*t or ricers that are loud also, but rarely do u see them getting pulled over and getting a ticket for noise. And in some cases the harleys or ricers are louder then some stereos. So the noise ordinance(sp) isn't consistant from what i have seen, and until it's consistant i say f*** that ****.

I voted more strict......but i guess it has to do with area....if im out on the streets i guess i can be a lil more tolerant but if im in my house in a neighborhood....i dont wanna hear that

I hate when someone with a lil bass comes down my street...., you know that bass that is loud enough to annoy you but not loud enough for you to run outside to see what and who had it....haha

Or at redlights....i never play mine at redlights or in subdivisions personally
