I got a 2013 Hyundia Accent GLS, I'm running the factory head unit and replaced the factory speakers with Alpine speakers. While it sounds ok the sound doesn't have much bass and does not sound full. My question is do I need to add a subwoofer or something else. I,m not looking to have a big thump or anything like that just some good lower range of sound.

Your speakers will not be able to play much bass. There really is no easier way to get the full low end to your music than with a subwoofer. What would help to an extent is to add an amplifier to your speakers, as well as some sound deadening. You'd still be missing out on the low notes that add that nice bump to the sound.

So would a single 10" Subwoofer with a mono amp fill in the sound. I already have a Mono Alpine M500 amp, what would be a good Sub to run?

10s are a good size sub IMO, one or two would be fine to pick up some low end in your sound spectrum, the best way for you to find something would be to look up on google the rms that amp puts out then search a sub that rms at the same and compare brands for what ppl usually have the best experience I would stay away from Walmart and most bestbuys when buying any audio they have enough business for everything else anyway help ma an pop pay some bills.

It has served me very well so far. I'm actually using it active right now, and I have no issues with it at ail. I'm also running the same series amp for my subs.

I might go with that amp for my 4 6x9s. That amp is exactly what I'm looking for as far as watts and its in my budget. Just always paranoid about the quality when it comes to buying new equipment cuz I'm a quality freak. I don't know much about all the diff brands so it it isn't a kicker or fosgate, alpine etc I'm always worried.
