I'm not certain but I think i'm getting some clipping.

but mabe you guys could tell me whats wrong.

I have anold JVC HU going to stock speakers I have an 88 mazda rx-7

when I turn the volume up on radio or cd. The sound through the

speakers sounds like its choppy or cutting up. Imagine some one

singing under water and thats kinda what it sounds like.

I know it might be really hard to understand but thats the best i can

do. At first I thought the it was that the speakers were blown

so i replaced the rear stocks with so stock ones from my friends rx-7

and the problem went away for while but then came back.

I looked at the stocks today and it says they can handle 10w

could that be the prob? The speakers don't look blown or anything

and when i tun the volume down (but it has to be really low)the problem goes away.

What could it be?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Thanx in advanced

maylar is right. the stocks are bad. your hu will put out around 45w max to each speaker, and they will only handle like 15w. thats definetly enough to trash your stocks.

Thanx for reasuring what maylar said

I don't know why i didn't think of that before. What kind of speakers

do you guys suggest for a car like my 88 rx-7 since its a two seater

i wasn't sure what to use i was thinkin to use components to keep

the bass in the back (i have two 10"s right behind the seats facing upward)

and putting the tweeters up by the seatbelts close to the drivers and

passenger heads. or should i just use some 3 way speakers instead.

i have no idea what size speakers your car takes. but there are some really good speakers out there if you are willing to pay the price. personally, I'm a huge JL and MB quart fan, but there is much cheaper stuff out there. check on ebay, but first find out what size speakers your car takes. oh, and personally i would also stick with the tweeters. but dont put them by the seatbelt or anywhere near your head. i've heard alot of people complain about their tweeters being too sharp, but they have the **** things right next to their head, like some fuc*ing super headphones. really bad idea. try installing them in the kick pannels

Don't put them right by your ears, they will almost feel like your ears are bleeding. But do check ebay. Prices are much cheaper. Also, the tweets on the dash usually make nice place to mount them.
