you could tack weld it in, the run a bead of sealent around the edges... or drill holes and use rivets and do the same

now you tell me....Liquid nails is good. Many people have done it that way. You'll be able to pry it off if need be. You may want to consider plexi glass instead, too. It's more rigid than a thin piece of sheet metal and won't vibrate/resonate like sheet metal could. You also won't have to place any sound deadener on it, where with sheet metal you'll want 2-3 layers.
