Sound deadening

I've been looking into sound deadener now for a month or so and can't decide on the best bang for my buck.

I thought about the home depot stuff but some people say it smells while others say it smells no different then fatmat.

Has anyone had success with home depot deadener as far as no smell, no mess, and successful sound deadening?

I live in NJ where it gets hot in summer but not super hot (100F tops).

I know this probably has been asked here a dozen+ times but I was wondering if anyone can give me legitimate first hand experience with home depot grade stuff. Is fatmat or second skin a better route? Just looking to do doors and trunk.

Everyone I know that used peak and seal had a bad experience. I have never used it but I'm a get what you pay for person.

A lot of people like road kill. If you need the entire car done check out DDs deadener, it should be around $350 for a lot of sheets and the stuff is very good. I didn't need that much but now I think I should have gotten it.

I used second skin sound deadener B stock with second skin CCF and MLV. These products work really well together. I have also used some home depot CCF and MLV type stuff with all the second skin audio stuff for more deadening. I used home depot stuff on the outer sheet metal of the doors and used second skin on the inside sheet metal where the panels clip on to.

DO NOT GET HOME DEPOT CRAP. It falls off the next day in hot weather. Yes 100 F is hot.

i used that peel and stick crap. its junk. does not stick, smells, very thin . stay away from it. its a wast of money.

i used it on my tail gate on my s10 blazer, what a wast of time and money.

i use soundqbed q-mat. its some nice stiff.

Searching around I came across one more brand so now I'm between 3:

Stinger Roadkill - 36ft - no roller - $96

GTMAT 80mil ultra - 50ft - with roller & degreaser - $105.

Knu knceptz kno knoise - 35ft - No roller - 100 mil - $139. Its the most expensive but appears to have great feedback.

I want to spend around $100 and need at least 35 sqft. I need to do both front doors of a Subaru BRZ and entire trunk. Is 35 ft enough?

Can anyone chime in on these?

I have that Knoknoise waiting to go in. All I can say so far is its sticky and pretty heavy.

35+ should be enough. Never used gt mat but i dont trust deadeners that can roll up into a roll like that. Reminds me too much of peel and seal and the aluminium layer looks lacking.
