sound deadening

I just installed my system about 2 weeks ago which as my sig says consists of 2 12'' R's in a 4.3 ft3 box tuned to 33hz and a brutus 1205D. I am very pleased with the performance so far. I go to a small school so at the moment it is the loudest thing there. The only problem i knew i would have is vibration and road noise. I have a 92 mazda truck so it is not well insulated at all. I have decided to do a lot of sound deadening so now i am looking at what to buy. I looked at dynamat but it is kind of expensive. Then i saw Cascade's VB-2. at cardomain I can get 42 sqft for $95 plus shipping. Is this a good product? and will I notice a big inprovement? Thanks for the help

Is your truck a B2200?

I would use either Secondskin as a base then cover that with P&S or brownbead..

Then pad your ride with foam and use Great stuff to seal any holes and what not..

my truck is the 2600i, what parts of the truck will make the most improvement for reducing vibration? I'm deff. going to do two layers on the doors, but where else?

I'd definitely do the roof, doors, and back wall. I just said the hell with it and completely gutted my truck. I did everything but the firewall. The only rattling I hear outside is the bed itself. The entire ****ing bed rattles. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

I am pretty sure you are going to need plenty of deadener and padding for the roof, you are going to get major flex in that truck..

Put ur system in, see what shakes and fix it..

There is alwasy something little that you didn't think of that will rattle..

I guess i will cover the doors, back wall, and roof, and then see what still rattles. At the moment you can't hear anything particular rattling it just kind of rattles the entire truck. The whole truck deff. flexes from the roof to the doors and everything inbetween.

did the secondskin...i support it..also try foam padding in between the panels...the egg crate / matress stuff...wal-mart, bedding section, cheap;)
do you recommend putting some egg crate foam on the actual door panel? just curious because I will be doing 120sqft of SS and I think the foam would help in the door panels.

i didn't use it in the door panels only becasue it can get wet and eventually mold...i guess if you wrapped it in plastic (garbage bag)...or...buy the plastic wrapped fiberglass insulation.

i used 40sq' of it to line my trunk and trunk panels...that's over 2 layers of ss.
