To downsize, or not too downsize?

So, i got a different car and since i'm going to be having this car for a while i want to do some things to it, i.e. tint, alarm, rims...etc. This is going to get into the way of car audio....definatly cutting into my HO alt budget, basically i don't want to get one anymore. I think i can run my 1200d fine but it would be pushing it to add another 300 ish watts for my regular speakers. I am thinking about going to like a 600 watt sub setup + my regular speaker amp cuase it will be easier on the alt....lol what should i do?

if you cant afford the electical system for the stereo you want, a stereo is not for you yet. do what you can with the money you have and save for the system you want. dont settle for less cuz youll end up paying twice as much in the long run.

goose, if you think you can live with something simple then take the route of something simple....just be careful you dont get that bug in you again that makes you into a bass crackhead.....cause what germanyt says is the **** truth

some local shop may be able to rebuild your stock alt for a fraction of the price of an ho alt...thas what i did, went from a 120a to a 180a for $160.
