A buddy of mine recently installed Cascade Audio VBlok VB-2 on his doors. I noticed that this stuff is VERY Ridgid, and dries hard. His door also has a ton of elevation changes, lots of valleys, and gaps, and is not pushed down onto ALL of these area's. It is also torn in several spots.
Now, my vehicle on the other hand has Dynamat Extreme. Its easy to apply, doesnt tear, doesnt rip, easy to install. No heat gun required. I have not 1 single rattle.
My question is... since his is ridgid, and not 100% touching the door everywhere... is this an ideal application? Since its hard, and doesnt touch everywhere, would that not create a rattle in itself??? Since tar backed paper or whatever you want to call it is soft against the metal, if you do not get it touching 100% everywhere, it wouldnt create a rattling noise.... should he rip off the other stuff, and go with a tar paper type product instead???
Thanks.
