Sound deadening help

Guys I'm new hear and found this while searching the net about some sound deadener. I've been looking for awhile at something that i can put in my truck to help reduce the noise from the engine, turbo, exhaust, and tire's. I keep finding all different things that I should use and every website seems to contradict the one before it. I'm not big into audio and have no subs in my truck just looking for something to help quiet that road noise down. I've came across everything from asphalt (which I know to stay away from) to butyl products that look to be like dynamat. Also have found neoprene that was said to be 1/8" or 1/4" thick and was a sound barrier. Also talked with my uncle who used to do upholstery on cars back in the 80-90's and said that they used jute and closed cell foam. This is some thing that I'm looking to do here in the next 2-3 weeks so I would like to find out what would work best so that I can get it ordered.

Thanks in advance

Rick

You are going to want to do a little sound deadening, I would recommend second skins damplifier or damplifier pro for that, however the thing that you are going to benefit the most from will be mlv. Which second skin also sells. Their's is called luxury liner or luxury liner pro. That it going to do all the noise blocking. Deadener will only reduce vibrations. You could also use a closed cell foam. That works pretty well too

Thanks for the reply. I will have to check them out. What is the difference between MLV and closed cell foam? Would closed cell neoprene work the same as the MLV or CCF? I'm thinking that I might need to use the dampner on my firewall and floor under the pedals and on the passenger side where my downpipe is. I seem to get some resonance there or I'm just hearing the flow through the pipe? If you guys think that I'm off my rocker on anything please let me know. I would rather do it right the first time then have to take out my interior and redo it. Also anybody know about how many sqft a 2004 CC F-250 is?

Thanks for the help.

Rick
