Sound Deadener Help, Please!

Hi everyone,

I am installing some Dynamat Xtreme on the roof of my truck, and I was wondering if I need to dynamat the support beams for the roof or not? When I knock on them they don't sound like the sheet metal of the roof, they pretty much sound like the deadened section. I was just wondering if itis even worth doing, or if it is just a waste? Here are some pics to show what I am talking about (behind the dynamated section).

hey i kno exactly what ur talkin about, i did the same thing in my track and i did dynamat that part and im actually gonna put another layer on top of it, but then again truck roofs are thin and i want less rattle, plus i like alot of BASS!!! but it never hurts to add more dynamat

if i was you i would fill the beams full of great stuff expanding foam. and then put a layer of dynamat over the top of the beams for added measures. i just finished my vehicles roof. i filled all the holes and beams with great stuff then dynamated well peal n sealed over the top of it. its SOLID now
