Sound deadener fill, what should I use..

Given that the large gaps which for the most part create the situation in which I needed a filler before covering them with sound deadener are facing down, I feel the application of ''greatstuff'' would be difficult to constrain given it's expanding properties. If I took off the lid of my trunk I would be easier to work with such a substance, but not feeling it. I decided to take a closer look at the lid of the trunk to see if it would be practical, there are a lot more smaller holes and layered metal than I feel would serve it justice. @Phoenix Risen had a great idea to use small mock up metal cut-outs to cover the gaps after I filled it with some type of filler and, then cover the plates with sound deadener, I guess I will just do that. That pink roll of cell foam ought to do, i've looked into the product and it's actually closed cell foam, If I pack it in right, should
be good to go. Might just add a smaller cut-out of sound deadener mat across the metal exposed in the gap first, add fill, and the metal cut-outs, and then, cover it all with sound deadener. Any idea how I should bond the metal cut-outs? What type of material would be thin enough to cut? @cyn @CAT MAN @audiobaun @Phoenix Risen

use, sheet metal screws...

Thin aluminum sheet metal,and self tapping screws,should work just fine,.You should be able to find a roll of sheet metal,or square pre cut pieces at Home Depot/Lowes/Ace HardWare, ect,Cheaply
