Sound Deadener and 6x8 to 6.5 adapters

Can anyone make an estimation on square footage. Im looking to buy today.
If you go with Dynamat Xtreme or better, you only need enough to cover 25% of the outer skin (at the center)_ and the same for the inner skin. You do want to seal the access holes as shown in the photo above but you will be happier in the long run if you do it in a way that leaves the covers easily removable.

etc..

I'd also make the 6.5 mounting baffles yourself with some wood and a $15 router.. couldn't be easier.. Just trace the 6x8 speaker on some wood cut it out, put the 6.5" speaker on the wood mark the hole and screw holes, cut it out.. bam screw it to your door..

Also when you deaden your doors consider that you might have to open them up again some day to fix something..

Yeah I got some 1/2 mdf adapters. And I am going to have a no door slamming policy in my car. At least once a month i have to go in there because d0uches slam em and shit comes loose.
If your shit comes loose from slamming your door you need to install everything more securely.

Don't listen to the dumbass above.
Don't waste your money on dynamat.. It is just over priced it is not worth the money..

The other products even stick better which makes your job 100x easier..

Nice post jackass. If you go by retail pricing then yes it is overpriced, but who pays retail? It cost me the same for a bulk pack of xtreme as the equivalent amount of damplifier. If I would have know about ss at the time I would have bought it.

I would love to see the scientific data to back up your claims. Even Ant from ss has stated that xtreme is the next best thing to damp/pro. If you are having problems with it sticking then it must be operator error during installation which would not surprise me based on your post since you suggest using ed products.

Are fatmat or zillamat any good?
You want to avoid anything made of asphalt and be VERY careful of anything coming from around Erie, PA. There's a different brand and eBay account every month coming from the same couple of guys. Be skeptical of unknown brands being sold on eBay.

x2

b-quiet and edv1 products are asphalt-based.

I would also use the B-Quiet material. I have used it for years and have never ever had a issue with smell or having the material peel off or crack due to the climactic changes that we see on the west coast. This guy is also west coast and gets a boatload of moisture as well. I would use ABS for the speaker templates and not mdf that is going to soak up all that moisture. Nothing like having your new speakers all bent out of shape when the msf twists due to ******* in moisture.

Arghh me no likey conflicting opinions.
50ft of bquiet for 135

OR

36ft of dynamat xtreme for 137

OR

62.5sqft of RAAMmat for 120

Lets get some votes here.
I got 10 square feet of Second Skin's Damplifier (regular, not Pro), and it is friggin' great! Sticks like mad! Cuts great with either a utility knife, scissors or tin snips. Paid about $45 for it.
