Sound Deadener and 6x8 to 6.5 adapters

I am going to be putting in my new Morel Tempo's this week and will be doing my first sound deadener install.

What are some good budget sound deadener brands?

I need to make some 6x8 to 6.5 adapters because I would prefer to keep the mids in the stock location rather then making a kick panel or something.

Anybody know of any companies that make adapters or will I just have to mae some out of MDF?

Also behind the stock speaker location there are tons of holes in the metal and I am planning on sealing these all up to make it air tight.

What should I use to seal them up? Im thinking plexiglass and silicone should work fine.

why would you spend money on quality products and then use budget deadener? i have more in deadener than any single piece of my system cost. spend the cash, get a quality product and be done with it.

adapters can be found all day long on ebay.

anything that will make an airtight seal will work. the material will depend on the size of the holes. my door card actually stuck out a bit and into the door itself so a flat panel was out of the question. i used some roofing flashing screwed in and then covered with deadener. this allowed me to bend it to the form i needed for the door panel.

Not the CHEAPEST deadener. Just pretty good I don't need anything too extreme. I might just pay the exta and buy from al and eds or a local audio store.

i still don't get it. you have an upgraded alt, top of the line alpine hu, etc, etc yet you want to skimp on deadener. get some dynamat xtreme or some damp/damp pro and be done with it. it may cost a little more upfront but the benefits and coverage with less product will be worth it.

Oh and how much square footage will I need? Just my doors for now I will eventually do the trunk too.

i used 80sqft in a neon covering the entire trunk and lid, 2 layers on the door and half the floor. check out second skin. it costs more but you will need a lot less than raamat or fatmat to achieve the same results.

Don't listen to the dumbass above.

Don't waste your money on dynamat.. It is just over priced it is not worth the money..

The other products even stick better which makes your job 100x easier..
