Sound Dampening???

Ok I dont know much about this stuff except it reduces rattles and can help make ur system louder by sealing off the trunk better. I need the basic stuff, probably the cheapest taht still does the job, I have a 92 buick regal, anyone know appx. how many sq ft i will need. where can i get it about howmuch will it be? thanks. Also i want the padding stuff none of that sludge crap the spray.

I have never verified this... but I heard that roofers use this stuff called "ice and water shield" and that it bears a striking resemblance to Dynamat. Might be worth checking out, as it costs like 1/20th of dynamat.

You will want to make sure you are using butyl sound deadener rather than asphalt based. While you can use asphalt based, you would need two or three layers for the same effect as the butyl based deadener. Also, if your trunk is more or less sealed off from your interior, you may want to consider using one of the liquids on top of the mat. The results will be better that you may think.

I used be- quiet sound deading for my car, and it works well for my needs. 1-8777278438 is the number. 50sqf for $60 or 100sqf for $100. You can buy direct.

Any vinyl or butyl-rubber based stuff is a good choice - RAAMmat is a good example. I'd stay away from roofing products, as the asphalt backing doesn't always hold up to high temperatures...and has a rather nasty way of failing when it doesn't.
