Well, today I replaced my shitty 5.25 Xplods in the front, which weren't working with a set of comps. Now, all but my sub cuts out once the volume hits 23 of 50. It played for 20 mins on the way home on 22, turn it to 23, nothing but the sub. Doesn't crackle or any weird noises, just stops playing.
I touched nothing but the front speaker wires. Going to check all connections at the amp tomorrow. Had this happen to me once before when a speaker was shorting out, but I don't know why it'd do it at a certain volume
It's probably important, but never caused me a problem before. I'm using the speaker wires off my head unit, into a high level input on the amp. (don't ask why, that's from before I knew any better). When the speaker was shorting out, the head unit went into protect.
What else should I check for tomorrow? It's late and i'd like to have some ideas before going outside.
thanks
