Sound cuts out after 30-45 seconds

Let me forewarn y'all I know nothing about stereo systems, car or otherwise.

I have a '99 Porsche with the original stereo player, a CD changer and Amplifier. It even has a cassette player but I'm not sure what I did with all those cassette tapes.

Problem is, all the sudden, the sound started to cut out after a few seconds and doesn't come back unless I power it off and on again and then the sound cuts out again.

Any thoughts are appreciated and thanks in advance.

trace the power, ground, and remote wires from the amplifier input to the chassis and battery. look for corrosion.

sounds like the wires supplying the power have high resistance and after a short time the heat makes the resistance so high that voltage drops too far and the amp turns off

I sprayed electrical cleaner on and then ran wire brush across the exposed terminals at the amplifier and it appears to have done the trick. Thanks so much.
