hey, building my gaming computer and i have about everything selected. Im looking for a sound card that would give decent quality while not messing with the performance of the games i would be playing. bf2, wow, etc. my price range is around 20-50 any suggestions?

Thats the one I have, seems to work fine for music, I don't game so I couldn't tell you how good it is for gaming.

Do you have nice speakers? I think its worth it to get a pair of speakers with digital inputs (optical/spdif/dig coax), and a sound card with some sort of digi out.

meh, i have some really nice cambridge set. Looking to upgrade in the future though.

you might just stick with the built in sound for now. Most cheapo sound cards using the same type of chips that are in the built-in's and just stick them on a PCI board... Find out what your MB comes with first... if you going to through money at a sound card also look at the Creative X-fi when you have more money... it's the only truly new sound card in years...
