sorriest car audio school !!!

really, the best way to get into the buisness is just get your feet wet. go to shop and tell them you'll start from the bottom and go from there. somebody will hire you. i can't say for all the other schools, but i know, from experience, that ACOUSTIC EDGE INSTITUTE in HOUSTON TEXAS is a giant scam. it was the biggest mistake i ever made concerning my education. they're fvcken thieves... legal thieves. let's put it this way. i'll tell you how bad i hate these fvck's. i went to jail over this crap. i beat tha fvck out of one of the owners. if i hear any of you talk good about that sorry asss school i'll track your ip address and slap the sh!t out of you.... in front of your mama and your girl. i aint playing
Starting to really think it wasn't the school that was the problem //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

dude, your lame as hell. your oppinion is like assholes... everybodie's got one.

i'll give y'all some more disturbing info...

when people come to the school to check out the class room and shop the "secretary" gives the tour. the first place she takes everybody is the work shop. she explains that most of the training is hands on and that you will spend only 10% of your time in a class room.(which is a total lie... the first 4 weeks your only in the work shop 10% of the duration) then she'll show everybody one of the instructors sponsored comp cars and tell them that the students built that car. w.t.f.!!!! while i was there we didn't work on anybodies car. if you want to work on your own car you gotta pay $100 an hour after school is over. that doesn't cover materials and wiring. also, all your fabrication prodjects are "life-like" models. none of your projects can actually be used in a real car audio system. you don't learn how to build ported or band-pass boxes. also, on learning how to build kicks, all the wood cuts are already made... all you got to do is cover up with fleece and apply resin. when we came back to school the next dat the kicks were primed and sanded. believe me this school is a total joke

it all comes down to credentials. sure you can walk into a place and say "hey i read all these books about car audio can i have a job" and they won't hire you. but having that little piece of paper that proves you read those books and can apply the knowledge to your situation is what your after. even if the school gave you a shitty education most shops won't know that. i have a similar gripe about culinay schools (good for some, but a total joke for others) luckily i was able to overcome the situation.

exactly... i'm just here to warn people about this sorry *** school- that's all. when i graduated from this school i tried using my certificate to get a job and was unsuccessful. once i stoped using acoustic edge as a refrence i got a job. you should have seen some of the shop managers faces when i brought those lame fake boxes to the interview to show that i could build encloseurs. they were like " what the fvck is that" and laughed their ***** off. i felt like an idiot coming to these interviews with those lame certificates i got from the school. soo lame!!!

**** that sux. never even heard of that place and im in houston.
well, now you know. it's off 1960 and 45. stay very far away. you hear? very far. 100% crooks

harris co. droped the assault charges, now i have no ties to tx. i'm home free //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

correct you don't

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif yeah right

that can be wrong, I actually got more pay because of it.

again that can be wrong too. I had a lotta shops calling me for a interview, West Coast Customs was one of them...

the school I went too hooked me up with so much and almost held my hand untill I found a shop to work at,

once at a shop, with knowledge of how everything worked, I soaked up all the tricks and some hands on stuff from an experienced co-worker, and was good to go.

my school was paid for after a few paychecks.

I never experienced that school you went too., so im sorry you though it sucked,

Mobile Dynamics was great, and the Snake Pit was even better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
snakepit? they've got the worse reviews out of every school i looked into. they must've done some changing

I would never go to Acoustic Edge based on the simple fact that their ad in CA&E has no less than 5 typographical errors.

I would never trust a "school" that couldn't even handle something as simple as properly proof-reading their advertisement before sending it to publishing.....

"Custom Fabrication (FAB) = This is a 4 week 100% hands on course that will prepair you for almost anything in the field of Fabrication. You will learn to work with Fiberglass [no reason for it be to capitalized], metals, plexi-glas, 2-part foams, many different composite materials and we will teach you to weld as well! This class is very informative and exiting!"

"Custom Interior (CIC) = [.....] The CIC class will teach you do build, rebuild or repair seats, [....]"

Pathetic //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

I was fortunate enough to take some advanced courses they offered. and was paid for, not by me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Look at it on the bright side , at least they offer schools for you guys now . I had to learn by absorbing as much as I could from other installers , and screwing chit up on my own //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Theory came from a lot of reading , and I actually got to watch a fantastic fabricator work his magic everyday for 2 years. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
