sorriest car audio school !!!

I did my first remote start ever on a Malibu before I even know what I was doing....it came out fine and wasn't too hard.
What year did you do it though? Back in '97 it wasn't a simple wire job. Plenty of resistors to trick the ecu into thinking the key was in the ignition and turned to the start position. A little different than the GM resister keys. now it's just a wire and go job.

i went to acoustic edge and thought it was a total waste of money. i came to learn how to re-build doors and custom fabrication. my instructor was bob , pretty cool guy but easily angered. somewhat of a smartass. i noticed that all the kids that had money, bought every tool from the school, the instructors looked out for them. invite them over to their house, got 'em drunk. it was pretty much a popularity contest. i stayed to myself. i signed up for the 3 months and dropped out after the second. i couldn't take another month there. they feed your head with all kinds of bullshit. if you had a good time in that school and thought you learned alot you must've been the teachers pet and your mama and daddy are loaded. they really didn't have shlt to say to me because i was smart enough to buy my own tools and not dumb enough to be convinced to buy an alarm from them. they were pissed because i didn'y buy an alarm. they tried to explain that i would miss out on hands on training, that im current viper was no where as good, and that i would never find a better deal again. my thing is why? why should you have to buy an alarm just to learn how to install one. for the guy that said he didn't have to buy an alarm to learn how to install one.... that's bullshit. yeah, you were probably the one that opened doors, cut the lights on-off, pull the emergency break up/down, dimmer on/off. yeah... that's really learning, ain't it? what did you do for two days straight while the kids (dumb enough to buy alarms) wired up their alarm brains? exactly... nothing. don't give your oppinion about this school if you've been gone for two years. alot of things have changed since you've been there. was they charging students $50 AN HOUR to do their own projects after school?
oh buddy that was easily targeted to buy that compustar that thought he got a great deal.... wrong. that compustar got a rating of 5 out of 10. i know all the kids who owned fords in my class had to wire diodes all over the place to keep the alarm from going off every 5 minutes. this school is a joke.

I had bob as an isntructor, true he got mad easily sometimes, but at that time we all kept a student to teacher relationship. he was also one of the greatest installer i've ever met, he showed some of his work to us and it was incredible..... i'm sure things have changed, hell there wasn't any secretaries working there it was just Damon doing all the paperwork and stuff. also when i was there we didn't get charged ANYTHING to work on our cars, we would stay there as late as 12 to 1 in the morning sometimes (specially during alarm week). also in my time there, i was able to help w/the install for the brain of the alarm. i didn't learn how to build 'glass doorpannels but it sure gave me the confidence to work w/'glass to gain experience and ideas to later work on door panels or even then build em... i guess the olden time at acoustic were better,, cause from it what it seems the newere guys have had a problem there....

Well I went to Acoustic Edge and I loved it. Learned a whole bunch. Didn't get a lot of experience there was only 3 in the class. I guess it was a little easier for me since I lived in Houston at the time. That school has changed a whole lot since the beginning of the year. My first week Bob was my instructor then after that Will took over and that was when things really started changing there. The school was expensive as sh!t to go to but you know I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. For my class we used to have work on our car days and stuff it was cool and we could go hangout and watch stuff done on the GTO. The class after me the people in it wanted to build a box at school and they were told it would be $50 an hour which I thought was bullshit. I did all three months and that was when Mark was the upholstery teacher, he was really cool and I'm happy that he was my teacher. Upholstery isn't for me but I'm happy I learned a lot of the basics and wouldn't mind getting behind a sewing machine again. Anyways I learned a ton of the technical side of things but when I actually got into a shop I learned a whole lot of stuff on that aspect of it and install techniques. Anyways I liked it while I was there but I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there now since it's changed. If someone was to go I would only do the first 6 weeks soak in as much as possible and leave and don't look back. It seemed like the people that dropped out and didn't do good were the people that were partying all the time and shit. In school they tell you to ask questions and also read read read.
