no you bridge it, i think ur saying you have a 2 channel amp that can handle a 2ohm load, and you want ur subs to have a 2 ohm load... unless you can get a 4 ohm mach, than you can't get 2 ohms out of 2 of them and yes, you'd have to have 4ohhhh yea we have P1s here, P2s and P3s aswell...i heard that those were really shitty so i stayed away from them all togetherNow that you got me interested on the Mach5s though, how If say I wanted to hook up 12" Mach5 subs at 2ohms (since my amp will do 900W @2ohms RMS) i know if i connect 2 4ohm subs in parallel it will give me 2ohms but the problem is that the amp only has outputs for 2, at 8ohms in order to get 2, id have to hook up 4 in parallel wouldnt i?
also, how well does the Mach5 stack up to the P1s?
well youre right, my amp is a mono subwoofer amp though but yes that is still what i meant...umm, since the amp only has 1 channel but 2 outputs, how would i get a 2ohm load off of 4 subsno you bridge it, i think ur saying you have a 2 channel amp that can handle a 2ohm load, and you want ur subs to have a 2 ohm load... unless you can get a 4 ohm mach, than you can't get 2 ohms out of 2 of them and yes, you'd have to have 4
you are confusing me... if its a mono amp it only has 1 output (which consists of a negative and positive lead) now it might have 2 terminals for each lead but thats not gunna make a difference, it's just to make bridging easier (if you didn't use one set of the terminals you aren't wasteing power)... bottom line is your amp can take as low as a 2 ohm load... that said 2 8ohm speakers cannot possibly make 2 ohms. (2) 4 ohm speakers can, and (4) 8 ohm speakers canwell youre right, my amp is a mono subwoofer amp though but yes that is still what i meant...umm, since the amp only has 1 channel but 2 outputs, how would i get a 2ohm load off of 4 subs
would having 2 8ohm subs hooked to one output create 4ohms?
and having the other 2 on the other ouput another 4ohms?
then in turn put out a load on 2ohms?
at the price of those Mach5 subs i wouldnt see a problem getting 4 of them lol
thats random but funny loli installed my friends sony subs upside-down.... they said poldX
ok that clears that up for me thanks!...i think im going to look into 2 4ohm subs thoughyou are confusing me... if its a mono amp it only has 1 output (which consists of a negative and positive lead) now it might have 2 terminals for each lead but thats not gunna make a difference, it's just to make bridging easier (if you didn't use one set of the terminals you aren't wasteing power)... bottom line is your amp can take as low as a 2 ohm load... that said 2 8ohm speakers cannot possibly make 2 ohms. edit to get the 2 ohm load off of 4 you wire them all in parallel all the positives together and all the negatives together
they aren't great but for 40 off... thats not bad, again...way better than the sony'sanybody know if these Kenwood 12s are any good?http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0926INGFS10084904&catid=20119&logon=&langid=EN#
theyre on sale for $40 off down to 99
sale ends tomorrow and they are in stock (finally) so if these are good subs, im gonna go pick them out now
wtf are you talking about... those Kenwood subs may have a lot more throw than the Sony's (11.3mm vs. 6mm), but they are still way overpriced... they have a Qts of 1.088 -- do you realize what that's going to be like when you actually put one in a box?they aren't great but for 40 off... thats not bad, again...way better than the sony's
