sony xplod installation

Hello I am trying to wire my sony xplod head deck to the acc line more specifically the cigarette lighter.

I was told to wire the yellow and red on the unit to the power line on my cigarette lighter (which I believe it blue) and black to the chassis. I believe this will give me power only when I turn the car on or to acc? Is this correct? And do I just splice the yellow red and blue together?

What kind of car?

Yellow should get a constant 12v sorce..meaning the wire gets 12v with the car off. This is for your clock and memory of the deck.

Red get a switched 12v sorce, meaning the wire looses voltage when u turn off the car. This turns the deck on and off. Only connect to cig lighter if needed,there are better places to tap into honestly.

what car is it? why dont you use the stock harness? unless the stock harnes is gone completely dont use the cig lighter. If your just doing it for a quick install cus you dont wana look up your stock wiring harness color coding then dont bother...
