Need help Maintaining presets on a hot rod with a battery cut-off

I have a hot rod that is equipped with a battery cut-off switch. This switch is turned off every time the vehicle is put away. It is designed to completely cut off all power runnning throughout the vehicle.

Problem is that all the presets on my head unit are erased each time. I would rather not have a hot wire running direct to the battery to maintain the presets and wondering if there is a work around for this. Installing a 9 volt battery inline somehow for example?

Thanks for any ideas.

Thanks for the replies. As a note, this is a very lightweight vehicle with space constraints. Large 2nd battery not an option. Gotta be a way to rig a 9 volt in the line safely????

Why 9 volt? That might not even work. 8 double A batteries could make 12 volts. But I don't know how long they could store information for.

Also, the battery cutoff is REQUIRED in some types of drag racing. Actually, it can be required to be on the outside of the vehicle in some cases.

Your best bet is to either not flip the cutoff switch, or just grab a pen and paper, then write down all your settings.
