NooB!
I currently have a sony XM2002GTR. It claims it puts out 200 watts a channel, 500 bridged. I got it for 50 bux with a wiring kit, so thats the only reason i have it. I also have a MTX 8500 12" thats 500 RMS.
The problem is that when the amp is bridged, it overheats after about 3-4 songs when its blastin, and maybe 10 when its low. When its not bridged it doesnt overheat at all...but thats not helping me seeing as the sub can handle way more than 200 watts.
So I am in the market for a new amp that will not overheat and will put out about 500 RMS. Problem is, I'm on a tight budget. I looked at the Sony XM9001GTR

Claims 550 watts RMS, and on that site its 187, + 30 for a 2 year warranty. I figured that even though sonys a bad brand, how could i go wrong? if something happens or it overheats i return it.
I just don't want another bad amp and have to go through all the trouble again. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks for all help
