Sony Vaio MP3 Player better than IPOD?!

the 1 gig sandisk is better or at the very least on the similar ipod level.

Stupid cnet editors, what do they know?

Seems that MS is working on a solution called Plays for Sure. It will let you plug any certified PFS MP3 player into a compatible controller and control it like you would an IPOD. Not sure if they will be showing decks at CES 2006 that control MP3 players with this standard, but its coming. All through the a USB cable connection.

Ipod for the win. There exists no better mp3 player to car solution at the time being, period.

no better stand alone player? eh.... debatable but its **** good

integrated? omnifi-takes the cake. the sq is amazing and the interface/implementation is amazing

What about Creative Zen's? I have one and I like it much. 30GB for 180$. They are all moddable too so if you feel like you don't have enough space anymore you can crack it open and install a 60GB. It uses Laptop Slim HD's.

Omni Fi implementation best? Uh, debatable. They pretty much pulled the plug on it, you had to have another DIN opening to mount the controller, and they gave up before all the software was worked out. When 60 gigs of storage is about the size of a deck of playing cards, its hard to make the case for the OmniFi (especially at the price it launched at). I saw the writing on the wall and sold mine cheap.

im talking about now, not then. the sq difference is enough to make it a much better option. not to mention that you can get the dmp 1 with the wifi adapter and the home media center with some other goodies for about 150? and the hdd is easy to upgrade.... its beyond awesome. and i love the faceplate. easy to use and looks slick

that sony was released in the us under the vaio pocket name a little over a year ago. i have one and its a bit bulky but very solidly built and pretty good battery life, but i think i might rather have the 5g ipod now. cnet sucks
