How are they? I bought my son one for xmas and it works fine but only has 2 rca outputs and I want to get one with 3 and the next sony up in the BT MEX line has 3 MEX-BT5100 is the one I am looking at now. What would you guys do or would you go pioneer?

sony is not a very good CA brand. they make good stuff, just not in the CA world

no...higher rca voltage just allows you to run the gain on an amp lower.

ok cool.. So does he have to stay spliced into the rear speaker wires to carry a signal to the other amp or can I use rca y adapters and make 2 amps work with 2 outputs? He would lose the ability to fade correct?

it is preferable to use a "sub channel" for a subwoofer, but is not required. you can run rca y's.

I think I will just get him the better sony HU that has 3 outputs then.. I found it for like 180 shipped... I am going to call and see if I need new mounting hardware or will it work with what he has.. Would be nice to just pull the HU and pop the other in.

Also check out Kenwood excelons. they have all the features of Pioneers but will be louder and cleaner sounding in the under $350 price range.
